Oberbaum Bridge (Oberbaumbrücke)

Oberbaum Bridge (Oberbaumbrücke) is an old bridge that today connects the two berlin boroughs Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain.

During the Cold War era it was blocked, since Kreuzberg was part of West-Berlin and Friedrichshain was part f East-Berlin. The Berlin Wall basically split the bridge in two.

Today the bridge is one of the many symbols of the Fall of the Berlin Wall. Almost as powerful as the Brandenburg Gate it stands for the connection between former East- and West-Berlin.
