Berlin has quite a broad selection of movie theaters / cinemas. But for tourists, expats, non-german speakers it might first actually be a bit difficult to find a cinama showing films / movies in english language – or actually in ‘original’. Most movies shown in Germany are dubbed – I’m sorry, but that’s how it is ‘here’.
In magazines and program guides the common marker, marking a movie shown in original version would be “OV” for Original Version – or “OmU” for Original mit Untertiteln” (original version with [german] subtitles). So there is a chance ‘regular’ movie theaters might show either OV- or OmU-films every now and then.
But since Berlin is Berlin – and there has basically always been a fair number of non-german native speakers, there’s also theaters showing mostly OV- and OmU-films. Here’s a list of some of the movie theaters that are showing movies in Original Version on a more or less regular basis. Please let me know if you find anything wrong and/or missing.
