Torsten Holzapfel – U8

“From December 4, 2025, to February 13, 2026, Galerie ART CRU Berlin will showcase a new solo exhibition by Torsten Holzapfel: U8. In this special presentation, the gallery in the Kunsthof is transformed into a walk-in subway station. For the exhibition, the artist—who has been nominated for and received multiple awards (including the Lothar Späth Prize and euward) and who also works as an actor at the Thikwa Workshop— accompanies his paintings with sound recordings. In the show, he slips into various roles: he becomes the train operator, the troublemaker, the newspaper vendor, or the mother with a stroller. These voices create a vivid acoustic backdrop that opens new layers of experience for visitors. …”
