Villa Heike

“Villa Heike was built in 1910 by architect R. Lotts for the mechanical engineer Richard Heike. Richard Heike had established his factory for meat-processing machinery in Alt-Hohenschönhausen, just outside Berlin and not far from the slaughterhouse and livestock market. Constructed as a reinforced concrete frame structure, the building was extremely modern and multifunctional: the mezzanine and basement, with over 1,000 square meters of space, were intended as exhibition areas for the machines. (…) Today, Villa Heike primarily houses artists’ studios, an exhibition hall, workshops, and offices.“
